IN PLAIN ENGLISH: There are two kinds of data we handle — information you give us to run your account (like your email address), and the actual files we back up for you. Your files are encrypted on your device before they reach us. We can store and restore them, but we cannot read them.
Account & Billing Data: For information you provide directly — your name, email address, and payment details — Silver Fox Cyber acts as the data controller. We decide how this information is used.
Your Backup Data: For the files, documents, and data we back up on your behalf, you remain the owner and controller. We act only as a processor — storing and restoring your data strictly according to your instructions. Because your data is encrypted on your own device before upload, we never have access to your unencrypted files.

IN PLAIN ENGLISH: We use your information to run your account, communicate with you about your service, and improve how the service works. That's it.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
IN PLAIN ENGLISH: Your backup data is encrypted before it leaves your machine, locked with Object Lock immutability so it can't be altered or deleted, and stored in secure cloud infrastructure. Even we can't read your files.
IN PLAIN ENGLISH: We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run the business — cloud storage, payment processing, and backup software. We don't share your data with anyone else.
We engage the following categories of third-party providers to deliver the service:
All third-party providers are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and appropriate security standards. We do not sell, lease, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.
If we add a new service provider that will have access to your data, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance.
IN PLAIN ENGLISH: We keep your backup data for as long as your plan specifies. When you cancel, we securely delete everything within 30 days unless you ask us to do it sooner.
Backup data: Retained according to your plan's retention schedule (30, 90, or 365 days of daily snapshots plus monthly and yearly snapshots as applicable).
Account information: Retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 7 years afterward as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Support communications: Retained for 3 years.
Upon cancellation, backup data is securely deleted within 30 days. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us directly.
Note on immutable backups: Because our backups use Object Lock technology, individual backup snapshots cannot be deleted before their retention period expires — this is the same protection that prevents ransomware from deleting them. Account-level deletion upon cancellation removes the entire backup vault.
